The Farmyard Party
CARS AT THE FARMYARD
Last year we recieved complaints and comments about the amount of cars parked at the Farmyard Party.
We do run a strict policy of no cars and 7800 people such as yourselves braved the elements and came on bike. What most of the party goers there don't realise is that to look after you all the event has to have staff - just under 800 people who service the event.
There are over 100 catering staff and 75 bar staff employed to run the food & serve the drink - most are not bikers themselves all of whom are there to work and all come in cars.
There are over 20 bands that average 10 people each - the brass band alone arrived in 5 cars. 11 DJ's for various different areas, circus performers and entertainers - all again, non bikers or bringing equipment.
Then there is the team of round the clock litter pickers and the toilet service guys who come on and off shifts throughout the weekend and go to and from home.
Last year we issued 60 car passes to disabled people who have to send copies of Blue badges and photots of themselves to attain a pass and they are checked to ensure that they are in the vehicle with no more than 1 other person and lastly the security staff who we employ to, among other things, refuse entry to ANYONE trying to drive in without an issued car pass.
All in all that equates to lots of cars either there for the duration or coming and going.
We hope that you now have a little more insite to the workings of an event of this size.
