Into the Valley
OVERVIEW
Cor Blimey that was good! Started off wearing wellies, finished wearing sun block!
So the weather was kind to us after all. The set up week was a shakey one, with deep sticky mud to contend with then just as it began to dry out a bit more rain! Everything was behind schedule, no vehicles could be moved on the grass and even walking around was harder than usual. Critically the beer wagon couldnt get on site. Disaster loomed! But then by some miricle the sun came out on Thursday, the wind picked up and the field began to very quickly dry out.
By Friday everything was in place, the only thing left to do was wait for the roadway to dry and be rollered. The gates heaved as the queue of bikes stacked up on the outside. Inside we braced ourselves for the torrent. When the gates finally swung open it was almost a military operation getting everyone in without leaving the ground unpassable for the bikes still to come. When more rain hit us and the hill began to return to its former state a desicion was made to switch gates and use another one. The joys of the English weather!
Once we got you all in we had some well deserved sunshine. The camp field filled up quickly, closely followed by the beer tent! The ITV 08 merchandise practically flew out of the MAG tent and MAG members claimed their discount vouchers by the hundred.
The bands bounced the marquee, the campfires gave a chilled out atmosphere to the campsite and the trader village had the feel of the Farmyard Party when it was down in the valley. All in all for me it was definitely my best yet Into the Valley. One to be remembered for all the right reasons. I hope that you enjoyed it just as much as I did.
ROLL ON FYP, THE RALLY SEASON HAS LANDED!
